Event Info

The Salt Lake City Fire and Police Departments, the Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office and the Salt Lake City Council will host the Pink Heals Tour in Salt Lake City on Friday, June 10 – part of a national campaign to heighten awareness and honor cancer survivors. The color pink not only symbolizes breast cancer awareness, but also provides
a way for the community to show support for all who are currently fighting cancer.

The tour encourages survivors and those who have been affected by the disease to participate through sharing stories of strength and success and making a pledge of support by signing two, specially decorated pink fire trucks. Those currently battling cancer, survivors, families and friends are all invited to attend the free event.

A pancake breakfast, Zumba classes, resource booths and activities, including hair cuts for hair donations, will be available throughout the morning. Participants can grab a hot breakfast from Mayor Ralph Becker and City Council members for a suggested donation of $5. Pink t-shirts will also be available for a suggested donation of $20.  proceeds benefit the Huntsman Cancer Institute to help those battling the disease defray expenses.

The Pink Heals Tour was created to remind communities of the struggles of cancer and to assist local cancer organizations in their efforts to raise funds for the fight. The pink trucks will be parked at the City & County Building, Huntsman Cancer Institute and Firehouse Carwash throughout the day at specific times. For more details, contact Mia Chase at 801.799.4181 or mia.chase@slcgov.com.
